Hi all...I've been lurking here since January and have been searching for the right gear for a nice HT/Stereo system for about six months. I bought a Denon 3803 in Feb. and last friday my Axioms arrived: M60s, VP150, QS8s, and an EP350. I eagerly went through a tedious setup, placement, etc, etc process and settled down for a little David Gilmour Live DVD. I was stunned. Grabbed U-571 and hung on as the depth charges rattled my 47 year old house. The next night it was Paul Simon's "Graceland" and then NIN "The Downward Spiral." After shaking that off, Gladiator shook the walls. Last night was Saving Private Ryan in dts.

I'm stunned. Can't get enough, can't say enough. I was a bit iffy about it all but I can honestly say, I'm glad I made the purchase - and if anyone is waffling on the decision, go for it, you won't regret it.

Also, thanks to the posters here, you guys have unknowingly helped me with selection, placement, etc.

wow.

I'll try to get some pics on my website in a week or so and post back.

Thanks,
^billy

If you like The Downward Spiral, you haven't heard anything yet.

Pick up the live DVD in DTS - it's the best "rock" live recording in a large venue I have ever heard on DVD, and they did it all themselves!

Billy - congratulations on your purchase. Stunned is only the first step in a trip of total enjoymnent. By the way, your description of helping you "unknowingly" is closer to the truth than you can imagine!!

I am leaning towards the same set up you describe Billy, if I am half as excited as you are, I'll be happy. How big is your HT room and what receiver are you using to drive the system...thanks Randy

I have the same setup (except the sub). The only problem I have is I want to buy more music CDs and movies. I play my "old" CDs all the time. I sit there constantly commenting on the sounds I never heard before in the "old world".

That's what I'm talking about John! This turns into a pretty good loop - experience better audio = more appreciation of music = listen to more music = experience better audio. While this might end up being a touch more expensive for CDs, it's a developing addiction that is OK to deal with.

Randy-

Hey - the room is 15x30...the best configuration I found was to use the short distance - so I have about 10 feet of space to one side (that's where the guitars, etc live). The M60s fill the room with more sound than I'll use...they seem to love high volume (which is good when I'm in the kitchen). I'm using a Denon 3808 to push everything.

I actually just purchased the same set-up that you mentioned in your post. The only down side is it's gonna take 9 days to get to me- arrrgh! From your post I can only imagine how my set-up will sound

Thanks to everyone on the message boards for helping me make my final purchasing decision - I was about to buy Aperions...

Why the 9 day delay?
